Actually, you can probably touch it okay, I just know it can cause skin conditions if you let it sit on your skin for too long without cutting it.
Back when I was having really severe migraines, someone suggested putting peppermint oil on my forehead! I have fond memories of it, it actually helped a lot.

That sounds really fabulous. Usually I don't have any headaches that can't be solved with medication, aspirin, or caffeine, but I'm totally passing that one on to my migrainian sister.
Give her this link and tell her to follow the instructions for "tincture!" And this site talks about dermatitis, but it actually burned me when I let it sit on my skin straight one time, so be sure she cuts it with grain alcohol properly. o/
