Speaking of Shannara, I haven't enjoyed a single book since the end of the "Voyage of the Jerle Shannara" series. "High Druid of Shannara" was bullshit Grianne redemption (way to nerf the only badass female you ever wrote, Brooks), and "Genesis of Shannara" was hippie Messiah bullshit. Problem is, I can't tell if Brooks is going downhill, or if I've developed something resembling standards for my fantasy lit since sixth grade.
