Y necesito practicar mucho porque, hahaha, mi madre quiere que yo trabaje con niños hispanohablantes este verano para enseñar la... ¿literaza? Creo que la palabra es “literaza”... ¡Pero no pudiera enseñar nada si no hablara español!

schiarire, debemos hablar spanglish allí. Es una lenguaje “foreign,” ¿de verdad?

Well for the upside down question mark I googled "upside down question mark."

For the accents, I rigged Word up to type accents when I was taking Spanish. ctrl+alt+vowel --> accented vowel.

idk, it's muscle memory now! I sat down to type in Spanish (the first time I've done it in a while) and just pressed buttons without thinking about it until I got accented vowels.

Typing is easier than talking! I rely on tricks and poems to remember a lot of things, and I can stop to pick a better word/conjugation when I have time to think about it.

Also, you should speak Spanglish. Find someone else who took Spanish in high school, then run around saying TENGO HAMBRE! and ESTOY CANSADA!

Yes, using palabras randomly in sentences is key to baby Spanglish!

I mean, es mejor que not using Spanish at all, right?

That sentence is so easy to parse that I completely didn't realize it was in Spanish.

For extra easiness, use Latin American cheat words like "troque," "caque," and "antibaby" instead of Spainish Spanish.

The Spanglish unit of my oral review class was the best part of the course.

Except that class where the hot grad student sub talked about his spring break in Mexico.

Enseñar is one of my favorite verbs... probably because "school" was, like, our third unit in Spanish, and it's a regular verb. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

HAHA WELL. I'm going to re-register with the temp agency, and if I get jobs with them, then I get jobs with them. If not, I'll go volunteer! Either way, I get something that looks nice on my resume.

I'm trying so hard to learn Spanish but Dan's family speaks with a Cuban dialect so damn near everything I learn sounds different when they say it. sob.

Oh god I totally get that. In university, we swapped between gringas, Spaniards, and Peruvian teachers, and it took FOREVER for us to adjust to it, even when they were toning it down for us.

¡Creo que es una buena idea! Tambien dijé a Caro que quiero hablar español con ella de veces, porque entiendo bien cuando los otros me hablan pero no puedo hablar bastante rapidamente (o correctamente).

Aaa y el accento de Caro me parece etranjo porque habla con un accento uruguano (sp?) y es como un accento castiliano ... y en los estados unidos solamente entiendo y estudio el español mexicano ...

Los acentos... es como una persona quien estudiaba ingles en los EEUU, y después hablar con Australianos. ESTOY DE ACUERDO, ES HORRIBLE. Y. Y en España, usan “vosotros”! No entiendo nada con “vosotros.” 8D

También, con Caro, es posible que ella tiene un acento Portugués para complicar su conversaciones contigo.
